The 'Firefighters Museum Society - Calgary' overall purpose is to acquire, restore, maintain and protect fire apparatus, firefighting pictures, equipment and memorabilia relating to the Fire Service. The long-term goal is to establish a Fire Fighters Museum (Heritage Center) to house and permanently display Calgary's fire history for the benefit of all the citizens of Calgary. The Museum Society dedicates itself to this purpose.

The responsibility for the establishment of a Fire Fighters Museum has fallen solely upon the professional fire fighter employed by the City of Calgary. We bear this burden with great pride and unity of purpose. We have an obligation to maintain the high standards set, not only by the Society, but also by I.A.F.F. Local 255 and the Calgary Fire Department Administration, therefore we conduct ourselves accordingly.

(The Society membership is comprised of Firefighters, Retired Firefighters and the many friends of Firefighters, whom we give great thanks for their help in this mission.)
